SIC Welding Machine

The SIC Welding Machine is our third generation machine specially used on the pipe seam welding.

It is a kind of induction welding machine, adopts SIC technology for the AC-DC part and still use the IGBT technology for the DC-AC inverter part.

The SIC Welding Machine is mainly composed of full-bridge rectifier, filter, modular power module (consisting of high-power IGBT and other power devices), secondary rectifier circuit, inverter circuit (consisting of SIC Invertor), load and other components.

The IGBT module used in the SIC welding machine combines the advantages of the high input impedance of the MOSFET and the low conducting voltage drop of the GTR, so that it can directly convert the rectified direct current of the ordinary three-phase 380V AC power into controllable alternating current. It overcomes the shortcomings of low voltage regulation efficiency and low power factor in traditional solid-state high-frequency welder isolation transformer and thyristor.

The control of DC motor, SIC welding machine and cooler on the welding pipe production line is concentrated in the central control board for the convenience of overall control. The display screen is established to show DC current, DC voltage, armature voltage, armature current, excitation voltage and excitation current indication and welder status.

The distilled water is used for internal circulation to cool the equipment. The ordinary water is used for external circulation to cool distilled water, and finally reach the purpose of cooling the equipment.

The SIC High-efficiency switch welder is designed for straight seam induction welding of steel tubes. It mainly uses UJ3C120040K3S (SIC) and DSEI60-06A (fast recovery diode), rectifier diodes, and modular Power component consisting of high-power IGBT and other power devices. The high-power capacitor bank C and the inductance coil L form the current-mode parallel boost resonant circuit. This kind of circuit adapts to the high-frequency welded pipe with low load impedance and does not require the output transformer. This not only improves the efficiency but also increases the reliability of the whole machine.

The high-efficiency switch welder owns the following obvious features of significant energy conservation, good welding quality, small size, easy maintenance, low failure rate, and low maintenance cost, etc.

1.Low Conduction Loss  

 At similar Power Levels, the conduction loss of SIC is much lower than MOSFET, nearly one eight of the MOSFET Conduction Loss. The conduction loss of SIC changes little with temperature, which is different from the MOSFET

The thermal conductivity of SiC is almost 2.5 times of Si material, and the saturation electron drift rate is 2 times of Si material, so the SiC device can work at a higher frequency. Benefit from the fast speed of switching, the switching loss is much lower. In summary, the SiC has the charistics of wide band gap, high breakdown electric field and high thermal conductivity. When SiC is used in power supply and inverter fields, it can make the system more efficient, larger output power, smaller system size and simpler heat dissipation. In this case, the SIC welder is more stable, efficient than traditional welder. The SiC greatly improved the stability of the welder in extreme environment and reduce the power consumption. Compare to traditional solid -state welder, the SiC welder can save power 25-35%, compare to Switch Welder, can save power 10-20%.
